Perfect concert
I spent 12 glorious days with Mark on a road trip to Colorado and vacationing in and around Boulder, Colorado. During that small window our two current favorite bands play the most beautiful venue very close to Boulder. Gorgeous historic Red Rocks Amphitheater is the backdrop for a beat breaking evening with Ghosts and Thieves! Woo-hoo!

Project 12 September edition
This is quite a horrible photo of a great layout! (I'll retake it tomorrow.) For much of September Mark and I were separate. While he studied at culinary school in Boulder, I taught and did yoga back here. Many other adventures ensued! He even joined me the last week of the month to celebrate his school break, our anniversary, and his birthday.

Road Trip
This layout has so many different patterns and methods incorporated. As I review this, I recall how therapeutic it was to complete this layout.
First off, the subject: what a fun three days! The sky was so gorgeous the whole trip. Mark and I really enjoyed our adventure together.
The layout: how happy was I to find these cool papers on clearance? Woo-hoo! I love the old-timey feel of the papers for this road trip. I made a little stamp out of an old map, used a circle punch for two photos, splashed some painting and adhered stickers. I also scissored details, and used a sketch. I tried three different ways to reduce this awesome 12 x 12 to a set of 8 x 8 pages to include in a book.

A scrapbook for Anna and family
I created this book for Anna Friedrich's second birthday. Anna lives in St Louis, a seven hour drive from us. Luckily Mark and I were on our way to Colorado and could see the Friedrich family. The morning after our arrival was Anna's second birthday brunch. I created this scrapbook of her first two years.
While i was there created this great Elmo cake for her. It has been years since I'd created a cake like this. Some years ago I had plenty of experience with similar cakes bearing the likeness of Cookie Monster, Raggedy Anne, Mickey Mouse, Rainbow Brite and even Ghostbusters.

Layout from a sketch challenge
I don't often begin my process with a pattern or sketch. This time I did. Here is the sketch:
And here is the cool layout featuring some of my favorite people and the sweetest dog alive today! I love the result. It is fun to turn your creative process upside down. I'm thankful for my friends who also "get" this art form.:)

Feb Project 12
January 2011 Project 12
I completed this in late February, but hadn't posted. This year each month I'm using the calender page from Real Simple magazine. Also using some papers and circles that my good friend, Stacie gave to me. Like last year I'll stick to the same sketch each month. This month some hand stitching, brads, felt borders and felt pieces add dimension.
Charity gathering
This video will explain why I haven't made a post in months. I'm organizing the first large yoga charity event in our city. It is the first public event I've organized since an invention covention approximately twenty years ago!

December Project 12
Twelve installments of Project 12. A whole year of layouts using the same sketch. I really like this series.
December was filled with family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and a trip to New York City! We even got to Baltimore and DC before and after the Big apple trip. Woo-hoo!
Added some sparkly gold stars to brighten this layout--just for fun. Many elements were consisitent each month.
